An instrument for use in the printing industry.

ADAXO developed a battery powered instrument to measure the average depth of engravings on rotogravure cylinders. To be able to do this offers quality improvements and cost savings but has required costly equipment more suited to the laboratory than the print shop.

The company took the project from proof of concept, technology demonstrator models to a working prototype. Mechanical and circuit design, PCB layouts and software were all undertaken by ADAXO.
Creating the instrument's probe and developing a practical method of manufacture was particularly demanding.

High quality audio.

ADAXO designed a high quality cross point switch and equalisation system for incorporation into a processor controlled audio system. The circuitry was implemented on a four layer surface mount pcb. One of the key issues was minimising cross-talk and noise. ADAXO's integrated approach to the design of critical circuits, by considering board layout and circuit design as a single unified task was key to realising the target performance.

DSP design.

ADAXO designed and supplied prototype audio processors. These self-contained boards incorporated a Blackfin DSP, professional analogue ADC/DAC and power functions.
We have also supplied designs which use DSP techniques to run on processors including Analog Devices microconverters which provide 8052 core microprocessors on the same chip as high performance analogue converters.

Consultancy.

ADAXO continues to advise clients in specialised areas. These include the implications of EU directives and designing intrinsically safe instrumentation. Adaxo also supports users of  RF Digital Corporation RF modules.

Design support and documentation.

ADAXO has always understood the need for ongoing design support. Without it, an organisation is unlikely to realise the value of its IP. Clear accurate documentation is often dismissed as a tedious chore by design engineers. Furthermore technical authors often do not have the back ground needed to generate quality work and may disrupt the design team with repeated cycles of correction and proof reading.

Compliments received from clients regarding our written material and illustrations have led us to offer this as a service in its own right.
